Just wanted to add my two cents.
I've been with InMotion since early 2006 and have only one or two issues in that timeframe, one of which was just a software incompatibility issue with the older sql and php version on the server I was on. I called, they moved me to another server and updated my account to reflect the current offerings, which include unlimited storage and data (when I signed up, my package wasn't unlimited). That was a very nice thing to do since I didn't even mentioning upgrading. And the price has never changed. 9 bucks a month for 10 domains, unlimited data, unlimited storage, 5,000 email accounts, 100 sql databases, and 75 subdomains is nothing less than amazing.

I could go on and on about the features, but I'll talk about reliability instead.
In those 4 years, i've NEVER had downtime (other than a server reset, which may last a minute). No serious downtime. Hosting 5 sites, 4 of which are php powered (Drupal). Two of these sites have HUGE databases, one with over 10,000 pages. Both have tons of video, some images. Always loads fast, always streams video perfectly. Not the first data loss (knock on wood!). Was attacked once by a scum that sneaked in the backdoor of an old WP installation that I forgot about. I did have backups... but so did InMotion. In less than 15 minutes, my largest site was fully restored, sql and all. They knew exactly where he got in and told me what to do (which I knew then to delete WP).

This is how confident I am in InMotion: I'm a web designer, and although I do run XAMPP on my machines, I usually design client sites using a "devsites" domain on my InMotion account. I install whatever software I'm gonna use (usually Drupal), then go from there. I've never had an issue doing this and a lot of times it works out much better for my distant clients. I can actually show them a live preview. I wouldn't do this with ANY other host... for fear of loss of data.

Bottom line: I've tried many different hosts (including GoDaddy, who I hated) and not one comes close to InMotion. As long as their around, I will NEVER use another host. NEVER.

Well, I'm inclined to suspect that Joe is an asshole. I have been with Inmotion for the last four years and they are faultless, helpful with anything and respond quickly.

"I'm considering a lawsuit". Pfft. You dick.

This is a great hosting site. They transferred my old site and I had no problems, and they are inexpensive too. Whenever i have any problems they resolve then in a fast way. My only complaint is that they could use more sports type templates.
Thanks inmotion hosting for doing a great job!

I signed up with InMotion, and am perfectly happy with how prompt they were in setting me up and getting my sites up and running.

I am a web designer, and I construct my own sites using professional software, FTP, etc.

However, within 12 hours, I successfully transferred my site (which is almost 1 GB in size) to InMotion, and it works flawlessly.

Their prices are excellent, their online support and documentation is tops. They have superb Flash tutorials, and you have extensive access to web analysis info about your site.

Couldn't be happier.

I am using InMotion business class hosting (shared server) for my web site, and they have been pretty good for me. Their customer service is excellent. I had a complaint about their MySql version, and they offered me right away to switch to another server that had an updated version. Besides that I haven't had any issues.

Joe, sorry to hear about your transfer problem.

I would never allow other people to transfer my files and database. We are the only people who know best about our programs, data etc. If the website being transfered is very critical and cannot be down during the migration, we even hired consultants to do it.

However, we agree that web hosts should do what they should do, managing the servers and having it up 99.9% of the time. Asking a web host to transfer your files and DB is a bit on the gray side... those tasks are not exactly what they do best (no matter what they said they are capable of).

Well, I signed up for inmotion and they told me they would transfer my two websites completely and make sure they were working 100 percent. Well i had tons of trouble after the transfer and had a hard time dealing with the techs. After i found a three things that did not work, they tried to tell me that they can't fix everything(they told me the site would work 100 percent after the transfer). Well, it appeared to work until a week ago and come to find out the techs did not transfer the sites correctly. They left my database pointing to the old host and now refuse to fix the badly done transfer. This leaves my links pointing to a database that don't exist. I would get everything in writing before doing ANYTHING with this company. I'm considering a lawsuit......and i though startlogic was bad......
