The only problem we found with Yahoo Merchant Starter e-commerce solutions is that NO ONE tells you upfront that their shopping cart and checkout system can only integrate with UPS for shipping charges and does not have an interface with FedEx for example.
What is worse however is the fact that the Yahoo shopping cart can only calculate shipping charges up to 150 lbs because Yahoo assumes that everything that is ordered is shipped in one(!) carton. While UPS has the technology to calculate cost for more than one carton per shipment, Yahoo has failed to implement a feature that allows the store owner to specify packaging for the items they sell.
If an order exceeds 150 lbs total weight, the shipping calculator will stop functioning and customers can checkout the order WITHOUT shipping charges or sales tax, thinking they got free shipping! This leads to order cancellations and unhappy customers once they get an email being told to pay for shipping (and tax) separately.

Thank you for your review of the Yahoo Merchant Solutions. We appreciate you sharing your opinion and doing the research needed to fairly evaluate Yahoo’s online business solution. We have seen fit to link to this article in our independent Yahoo Merchant Solutions Reviews section. Anyhow, keep up the good work spreading truth.
