Comments for Even The Best Hostings Suck Sometimes Searching for Web Hosts that Suck the Least Tue, 30 Jul 2013 17:14:39 +0000 hourly 1 Comment on eBoundHost Bound to Suck? by Tammy Tue, 30 Jul 2013 17:14:39 +0000 I agree. EboundHost has helped me through some tough times. I was doing a large server migration to eboundhost and they called (on the phone!) me over the weekend to see how it was going. I’ve had nothing but great things to say about them. 5 years and counting!

Comment on GreenGeeks Not Just for Geeks by Gavin Roberson Wed, 17 Jul 2013 09:41:28 +0000 I’ve just canceled my hosting with Greengeeks despite how much I dislike moving my personal web space. I was some what unhappy with them but the final straw was that they locked my website and email on the day payment was due, the very day I was to make payment with a newly issued credit card. When I complained about this NO ONE REPLIED. I have a new host now and have almost completed my settings. Cheap is not always good.

Comment on eUKhost Sucks by gal Fri, 28 Jun 2013 08:22:38 +0000 Be careful EUKHOST SCAM!!

I have a bad experience with EUKHOST.COM

I don’t recommend anyone to deal with this company.

service is poor, servers downtime non stop, support is made by who has nothing to do with technical issues..

Big disappointment!

Comment on Zyma Sucks? by Reynold Mon, 17 Jun 2013 05:20:25 +0000 Zyma is the worst hosting in the world. For anyone looking to opt for this service, I will assure you that you are wasting your time and money on this shit like service.

My Story:
I usually don’t trust any newcomers when it comes to hosting, I mostly go with Hostgator whenever I need to host my sites. But around Nov 2012 I participated in a contest on one of favorite blogs, was announced as a lucky winner of a contest and won 1 year free hosting on Zyma. Those days I was planning to start a new blog so I thought of trying Zyma for that.

In the first few days everything was going good, I was impressed with the speed and uptime. But my happiness was short-lived. After about a month my site was hacked. Note I was using a very strong password and some security plugins but despite of it somehow my site was hacked. After talking to some fellow bloggers, I came to know that actually some Bangladeshi hackers have hacked some zyma severs and have defaced all the sites on them.

AsI have a habit of taking regular backups of all my blogs, so this hacking was not much of a trouble for me and I restored my blog the very next day. Then I contacted zyma support and they give me a list of 6-7 resource extensive plugins and told me to install them on my blog. These plugins were security related plugins, may be after being hacked they forced every user to use these plugins. Due to these plugins the load time of my blog increased from 1.2 seconds to 4.3 seconds. But I didn’t cared too much as it was a relatively new site.

After this for couple of months everything was going good my traffic was increasing steadily and things were back on track. And one fine day Zyma blocked my account. I contacted their support and they told me that your site was utilizing too many resources so we have put it down. I asked them which plugin was causing this and they told me that they don’t have the details, on this I asked them to make my site running and I will correct everything but they refused to do this.

They told me to pay for a semi dedicated server but my traffic was only 200 daily visitors. I told them for a site having such less traffic shared hosting is the best (I know some guys who have 5000+ daily visitors and they too use shared hosting). I told them I cannot afford semi dedicated server so grant me my sites access I will remove the resource extensive plugins but they didn’t give me any access.

After this I purchased a new account on hostgator and asked the zyma guys to give me FTP or Cpnnel access for taking a recent backup of my site as I need it for migrating but they denied saying that we have deleted your account. This made me angry and I was out of my mind, I told them how you can delete my account as I still have around 6 months of hosting left. On this those guys logged-off chat and made it unavailable somehow. Also they didn’t picked my phone.

Then I was only left with the option to use my existing backup (1 week old or so) and write 3 posts (that were not in the backup) again.

This incident has taught me a lesson not to use any cheap or free things when it comes to business. I think this story would also tell you about those unprofessional bunch of crooks at zyma.

Comment on InMotion Hosting Sucks – Not true! by Alexander D. Thu, 18 Apr 2013 21:43:00 +0000 I am using IMH for the past 3.5 years. When I used Joomla and Virtuemart, there were no complaints except for 1 times of downtime, due to a front page hack attack. It took them about 2-3 days to sort things out.
Now I moved to a Magento based site with barely 350 products and barely 90 customers/day (!!!) they claim I need to go to VPS. This seems to me like a poor behavior. I wish I smoke what you do and observe a site with big DB with 10 000 pages without their interest and attention. Just sayin…

Comment on Hosting24 Any Good? What is a Better Alternative? by starlight Thu, 18 Apr 2013 16:15:25 +0000 HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. Completely unreliable customer support. I was trying to configure my business email with my Mac Mail for over a month and they kept finding new issue of why its not working. They don’t have phone service, you can only communicate with them through email. You have to create a “ticket”/ claim every time you have an issue and need assistance. Today I woke up to my site being down and they still haven’t resolved the issue with my email.

Don’t waist your time or money.

Comment on 123-Reg Sucks by jane Mon, 25 Mar 2013 18:03:40 +0000 123.reg are a scam company. They have stolen money from me. Never use as they won’t let you cancel and take your card details and charge you for services not ordered. Do not use please, or you will find the hard way along the line when they charge you for the rest of your life.

Comment on Hostmonster Sucks? by Lauren Thu, 21 Mar 2013 17:34:09 +0000 I used HostMonster five years ago and they were okay.

Now they suck.

They have gone downhill. They don’t have good customer service. If you start an “open ticket” they don’t even respond. You have to call them to get any customer support.

I switched to another company and I’m glad I did. Anyone signing up with this company is making a HUGE mistake you’ll regret.

Comment on eBoundHost Bound to Suck? by Rahul Mon, 11 Mar 2013 18:37:36 +0000 I’ve been with eboundhost since Feb 2010….absolutely no complaints whatsoever!
