I thought that I would try to give this service the benefit of the doubt and call their tech support to find what level of service they can offer. After calling all 4 extensions that were available and finding all the voicemail boxes full, I decided to chat with an online representative. Just a plain recommendation: Say away from . The total hits versus “hate” ratio is misleading. It is not about hate but about feedback based on poor customer service.

It looks like except for you insulting and descrimanting the chat people at Mocha you did not really proof or achieve anything. The guy was trying to do his job and minding his own business – there is nothing positive and nothing proud to be of what you did.

Mocha is not even claiming to have 24/7 phone service and their phone is via call back as stated on their site. You can call and leave a message


I am with them for the last 2.5 years and they are perfect. If you know how to appreciate good service on a even better price then you don’t need to have rocket science degree to join and try them.

My company purchased a reseller account from Mochahost. After 2 months we had migrated only 1 website to our mochahost reseller account and I received the following email:

One of your hosting accounts – has been investigated by our administrators due to excessive load including high CPU utilization and memory consumption.

We have determined that based on the excessive resource utilization your account is not a good fit for our shared hosting environment.

If you are unable to fix this problem the only hosting alternative solution we can offer you is obtaining your own dedicated server pricing for which you can obtain at

Please respond within 24 hours. If we do not hear back from you within 24 hours your account will be automatically suspended.

Now, if you were a mochahost customer with a reseller account and only had 1 website hosted on there server, what would you think of there services? I know I will be changing reseller providers.

I’ve never been so frustrated with a hosting company in my life. Their reseller plans seem so unreal, because they are. They offer a plesk panel as their reselling panel, which is fine — IF IT DIDN’T GO OFFLINE CONSTANTLY. Upon adding a domain to your account, the process will never finish, and then your control panel will be down for several minutes. PLUS, I found some sort of ad serving software loaded on 2 of my domains upon logging into ftp one day. Once your site is up on their servers, you will realize that it is slow and 1 out of 10 times will time out. Their support is not helpful either. They always point you to the ticket system, and if they cannot resolve your issue (90% of the time they can’t because they aren’t a real webhost) they tell you they have “submitted your question for processing and will notify you once they have more infomation.” Guess what? they never reply. It’s just a way to get you off their back. If you’ve signed up for mochahost – get your money back (if you can) and find yourself a real webhost with real tech support. I will be an anti-mochahost advocate for life. STAY AWAY FROM MOCHAHOST.

I have one main complaint about MochaHost. They offer free lifetime domain names but I have to pester them to keep their word.

Every year they send me a series of emails saying “Your domain is about to expire, you better renew it.” I remind them that our deal is that they will pay this. They ignore my responses and requests for clarification.

Finally my domain name expires, my site goes down. THEN, after yet another request, they finally pay the registration.

I assume this is a little scam they run, hoping I’ve forgotten what the original hosting offer was. I’ll be changing hosting companies once my prepaid with MochaHost has run out.

– bad support (bad language, they hang up if don’t know the answers to your questions)
– tried online chat instead of phone but they have:
– blocked my ip from accessing, their main support site
– blocked my ip from accessing

no support means no more tickets, no more developing software for the site, no more control over own account with mochahost, including billing (couldn’t pay bills anymore)

I decided to move to different provider, close my account with mochahost (after just 2 weeks) but they quickly locked my domain from being transfered away from them. I tried to move out after my ip was denied (see above) and after being repeatedly insulted by their customer support.

Oh, btw, to close an account with them you need to place 3 different tickets with account management, with tech support and with billing, 3 different tickets for the same purpose. If they haven’t blocked you from using their ticketing system.

– I have also filed a claim with PayPal to recover loses (and it worked)
(you can do it too if unsatisfied with their service)

– filed a complaint with ICANN to recover my own domain that they are now abusively holding. THIS IS THE MOST SERIOUS OFFENSE AND CAN BE LEGALLY DISPUTED.

Since the above offense is a serious one I had my lawyer contact their lawyer and now will see what they’re up to.

My Bill with them was on automatic payment and they billed my CC on the date they billed me. transaction got cleared and my balance is 0. But they forgot to renew my domain name and now its marked as expired. Loss of the visitors and Google revenue! No support to call to and the chat guy is not able to help! They really suck, I need to file complain against them. If you have any info please let me know.


They have a bait and switch plan. Signed for a two year business plan which included free domain registration for two years. After the first year, the domain stopped working. Contacted them, and they said because I have not used it enough (i’m building the site part time), my domain was on hold and I would have to pay between $100 to $200 to retrieve. They understood I pre-paid for two years already with the domain, but it did not matter. After many many subsequent messages (most with no replies), I was stuck. They would also not provide a phone number or address to their legal department. A year later (two years total), they tried to charge my credit card for renewal. What! they lost my domain name, and I cannot access their system and they want a renewal? Go elsewhere.

I’m having the same problem with transferring my domains out of scam MochaHost. They are using the same excuse saying that they are sending the authorization keys but they are not. Them they ask you to update your whois information and still nothing. They say “we sent the keys again” and nothing. The funny thing is that I do get the emails from them regarding the ticket I have open but not the email with the keys. Stay away from them!! I’m filing a complain with ICANN. And also ENOM which is the real Registrar won’t help you saying that I should contact MochaHost.

Best to stay away from as the Better Business Bureau rated with an F . There are a lot of complaints about about their business practices such as over charging, wrongfully suspending accounts to try to force customers to pay more for unnecessary upgrades, not having a valid contact number, their online chat is only for sales and do not help with technical problems, their servers are not stable, there’s a lot of downtime, they do not pay affiliates, they do not offer what they advertise on their website such as unlimited bandwidth, they do not honor their contracts, they will not refund you even with their trial period guarantees and lastly will changes their terms and conditions on their website at any time to avoid customer refunds and/or avoid services that were previously promised.

To be honest, I have been there membr for almost 2 yers AND they have been the best hosting company evr, till now. i am still working with the issue, problem started when my website went down, when it came back up, been giving me problem since then, must be configuration thingie, but i will see how it turns out. Very frustating.

Now to say their tech sucks and all the negative thing u put is unfair. I know ur frustaed, but cpanel works fine (been working yesterday on it so I know). Ur directing users away from good company, right now I am litte frustaed with them, but I still recommend them. However, if problem persists till end of the week, I will let u all know how it went. But what ur doing is slamming good company and its not right.

and one more thing, only time I chatted about sales when i was first joining them. after that, i have chatted about 10 times with their people, but was all technical (website had very few probs so didnt need to chat much). So whe u posted that their chat is about only sales, its false accusation.
